Re: Close Contacts and Positive Antigen Tests
Dear Members
I am informed that several staff who have been confirmed as close contacts or have returned a positive antigen test are allegedly being instructed to report to work as normal by management.
I urge all members to follow the current public health advice, not just to protect yourself but your colleagues. The current advice for self-isolation is as follows;
Self-isolate if you:
- have symptoms of COVID-19
- get a positive antigen test result
- are waiting for a test appointment and your test results, if you have symptoms of COVID-19
- have had a positive test result for COVID-19, even if you have mild symptoms or no symptoms
Do this even if you are vaccinated or have had your booster dose.
Close Contacts
If you are a close contact and have no symptoms you will need to restrict your movements (stay at home) and get tested for COVID-19. You will only need to self-isolate if you develop symptoms of COVID-19.
For advice on when to restrict movements, how long to do it and what test to do, visit;
Should any member be instructed to breach said advice, contact the Mandate Cork Office immediately on 021 4270101.
Yours sincerely
For Mandate Trade Union
