Re: Removal of Protective Screens

28 January 2022
Dear Colleague,
Attached please find correspondence sent to your employer, on 26th January 2022 (Mandate Letter) and their response of even date (Tesco Response) in relation to the withdrawal of Perspex screens in some locations and our request for the maintenance of Covid 19 protective measures and protocols to be sustained as we emerge from the pandemic. We are asking all Activists across stores, in conjunction with the members, to ensure that a union elected Health and Safety Representative is in every location to monitor the Company’s implementation of all safety protocols and to ensure that any deviation from best practice is addressed to store management in the first instance and supported through your local union officials Mandate Local Offices who can assist in the coordination and communication of these matters with our general members, etc., in the various locations.
Given the high volume of Covid 19 case numbers, our demand to sustain appropriate PPE and safety measures must be reemphasised to ensure the safety, health and welfare of our members on the frontline.
Yours fraternally
For Mandate Trade Union
Jonathan Hogan
