The undersigned is aware that the Jervis Street Store closed as planned on Saturday last. Unfortunately I have dealt with a number of store closures over the last 18 months and I am very mindful of the fact that it can be a very emotional and difficult time for members. Many of you gave years of loyal and dedicated service to Argos and through no fault of your own a decision was made to close the store due to factors beyond your control.
It is never easy dealing with any store closure but I would like to thank you all on behalf of myself and Robert McNamara for the professionalism and decorum with which you all conducted yourselves throughout the process.
For any of you that have transferred to another Argos shop or commenced work in alternative retail, bar trade or administrative employment I would ask that you make us aware via email to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can update your membership profile accordingly.
For those of you who have left Argos I would like to advise you that you can continue your membership of Mandate as an unemployed member. You can do this by contacting our Membership Department at email@example.com There exists a rate of €1 per week for those who wish to remain members while seeking alternative employment. By remaining a member you have full access to training courses offered by the union and can easily move back to full membership should you be employed in a relevant employer in the future.
To conclude I would like to wish you all all the best for the future and I hope that our paths cross again.
