RE: UPDATE ON POST INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE ISSUES
A Chara
Further to the last update issued on the 17 June 2021 this is the latest position regarding the following issues:
€3m Government Fund
At their meeting held on Wednesday 23 June 2021 the National Shop Stewards’ Group selected the following individuals to participate on the oversight group for the fund.
Jane Crowe – Henry St
Carol Quinn – Tallaght
Madeline Whelan – Patrick St, Cork
Michelle Galvin – Waterford
Marie Dignam – Blanchardstown
These names will now be submitted to the relevant State authority with a view to commencing an initial meeting of the full oversight group in the near future. Hopefully this development brings us a step closer to the day when individual applications to the fund start to happen.
It has once again been brought to our attention that some individuals have been contacted by staff from the Department of Social Protection enquiring about their current activities and future intentions. As previously advised the department staff should be informed by the individuals concerned that they intend to apply to the €3 fund for training/development support at the earliest opportunity.
Individual Workplace Relation Commission Cases
The union continues to engage with senior representatives of the WRC and KPMG regarding the scheduling of these cases and we remain confident that hearings will take place in the near future.
Personal Belongings
It is understood that the exercise designed to facilitate the return of personal belongings has commenced however the union has reached out to KPMG seeking clarification as to when this might be completed. We have not received a response thus far however when we do it will be circulated.
