RE: PDRs

Dear Ms Fagan

I have been advised that some of our Section Manager members nationwide have not received their PDR’s in line with their contract of employment.  Some of the reasons given were that they were on hold or out of time, however Mandate has not been advised by the Company that any PDRs have been put on hold nor has this issue been raised by the employer during recent negotiations.  

I would be obliged if you could give this matter its urgent attention and respond accordingly.

Re: Section Manager Title Change to Team Manager

Dear Ms. Fagan,

Further to reports from Shop Stewards, I understand that the Company may have communicated with Section Managers a change to the name of their role to “Team Managers”. I would be obliged if the Company would confirm this in writing for the purpose of absoluteness.

In the event that any change has been made to the title of the role of Section Manager, Mandate is seeking confirmation of the following:

1. All references hereinafter by the Company Marks and Spencer Ireland to the grade of Team Manager will be a reference and will reflect all associated terms and conditions in the current contract of employment of the Section Manager grade and all associated collective agreements, agreed between Mandate and the employer for the role of Section Manager will apply and be transferred without deviation to the grade of Team Mangers.

2. There will be no changes to our members’ terms and conditions of employment as a result of the change of title from “Section Manager” to “Team Manager” and any changes will continue to be negotiated through and in the spirit of our current collective agreements and procedural agreement.

On behalf of the members we represent, I would be obliged if these clarifications and commitments could be given at the earliest opportunity.
