Marks & Spencer Shop Stewards

2 February 2021

Dear Colleague,

Please be advised that Mandate has written to Marks and Spencer seeking paid release for you to attend a National Shop Stewards meeting on the 2nd March 2021 at 11am via Zoom. As soon as we have confirmation of the release we will advise you of the details. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss our outstanding pay and benefits review which is due to take place from February 2021.

In order to assist your national negotiating committee in prioritising our members’ needs, it is planned that the outcome of a national survey of members which is due to be launched on the 2nd February 2021 will be discussed.

Two vacancies on the national negotiating committee have arisen from within the Dublin region for the Sales Advisor grade due to changes in store union structures. Nominations are welcomed from within the Dublin stores who are not already represented on the negotiating team. Unfortunately due to the pandemic we must seek expressions of interest from you in advance of our planned zoom meeting on March 2nd for technical reasons. Nominations will not be taken on the day of the meeting. Nominations from the relevant Dublin stores should be sent directly to Louise Foy at lfoy@mandate.ie and copied to myself at jhogan@mandate.ie no later than close of business on Friday 19th February 2021. Any queries about the role of a Steward on a national negotiating committee can be channelled through your local official for further details.

Please see survey here https://tinyurl.com/MandSSurvey21 which will be circulated to all Marks and Spencer members tomorrow, 3rd February 2021.

Yours fraternally
For Mandate Trade Union

Jonathan Hogan
National Coordinator
