Re: Nightpack for Christmas Trade
Dear Mr Hogan,
I acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 10th November regarding the above. The requirement for a nightpack is determined by each individual store and if there is a need it will be communicated at store level to our colleagues as per previous years. It normally only takes place in a small amount of our larger stores, however no decision has been made at the time of writing as to whether any of our stores will be running a nightpack this year.
If a store makes the decision to proceed with a nightpack and there are queries in relation to same, I would expect colleagues to raise the issue at store level and the store manager will respond to same.
It is not appropriate for me to give a general response to the queries in your letter as each store has different requirements as well as agreements already in place at store level regarding the method of selection for nightpack, the number of nights to be worked, working times, facilities available etc.
I can assure you however, that where we do conduct a nightpack that the conditions of our contracts and collective agreements are adhered to at all times.
Yours sincerely,
Michelle Whelan

Re: Night-Pack for Christmas Trade
Dear Ms Whelan
I refer to your response of the 16th November in relation to the questions raised in my correspondence of the 10th. I also wish to acknowledge the company’s commitment to adhere to the terms of our collective agreements and contracts of employment in the event of implementing a night-pack/night-work during the Christmas trading period.
I trust that those store details referred to in your correspondence of the 16th November 2020 will be effectively communicated to the members within each location should those stores decide to operate a night-pack/work etc. for December 2020.
Yours sincerelyFor Mandate Trade Union
