Hi Keith
Thank you for your letter.
There is an omission of signatories from your letter.  Please forward same to myself for my consideration of this matter.

Dear Mr. Ryall

Thank you for your email.

The members who signed the collective grievance requested that their names not be given to the Company. Furthermore the 2004 collective agreement governing “Collective Grievances” does not state anywhere that the names of the individual members have to be supplied to the Company.

There is an issue in your store with regard to staffing levels, that a number of our members have brought to their union’s attention and once again on their behalf I am requesting that you contact the undersigned upon receipt of this correspondence to arrange for a meeting to take place to discuss our members concerns in more detail.

Yours sincerely

Dear Mr Pollard,

Thank you for your email.

It is not reasonable to refer to a collective agreement that you claim is supported by signatories without providing us with the details of who was party to that, especially in circumstances where the allegation in your letter has not been raised in the first instance with management.

However in order to move this on we will facilitate a sensible way of dealing with this, and in line with the Company Grievance Policy whereby the colleagues party to the claim should raise their concerns or agree one individual from the group of colleagues to raise their concerns to their line manager or appropriate member of management.

Regards

Joe Ryall

Dear Mr. Ryall

Thank you for your response.

I would disagree with your assertions that the matter has not been raised in the first instance with local management but In an effort to expedite the collective grievance I am in the process of brining your response to the attention of the numerous signatories to the collective grievance in an effort to identify one or two representatives willing to put their name forward to accompany the undersigned to a meeting with the appropriate member of management.

Yours sincerely

Dear Mr Pollard,

Thank you for your email.

As I have previously set out, this matter has not been raised to local management. If the allegation was raised with management, we could have resolved colleagues concerns without any delay and support in identifying the most appropriate solution, as per the established company policy.

When this matter has been raised in the correct manner and in line with the Company/Union grievance procedure, the Company will proceed at stage 1 of the process.

Regards

Joe Ryall
